Hailing from Kaohsiung in Taiwan, Gigantic Roar started making waves in the local music scene while they were still at high school, playing slots at festivals like Formoz, Megaport and Rainbow Bay. This was followed by their first EP, ‘Climbing Up the Birdy Tower’, in 2014, and the acclaimed album ‘Ain’t Got Nothing but Time, Son’ in 2016, after which the band surprised everyone by going on hiatus. Now reunited, the four-piece are making up for lost time as they bring their blend of 60s psych-jams, funked-up grooves, and garage-punk to Clockenflap.

團名出自北京 post-punk 名團 P.K.14 一句歌詞，亦從 ELLEGARDEN、甜梅號、Mac DeMarco 等單位取經，來自台灣高雄嘅「巨大的轟嗚」由結他手 亮廷、低音結他 侯柏第、鼓手 黃堂軒 和 主唱 王之佑（aka Leo王）於高中年代組成。無論係創作抑或舞台上，巨鳴都體現出有如 Jon Spencer Blues Explosion 一般帶有藍調色彩嘅暴烈朋克力量。

成名作〈登鸛雀樓〉以中學課程必修同名唐詩為靈感，唱出「我不想上樓／不要啟蒙我／讓我當白痴」嘅少年獨有鬱怒；其他曲目諸如〈媽媽我要吃肉〉、〈一分耕耘沒有一分收穫〉、〈靠腰毛里森〉亦係表面令人莞爾，實質嘻笑怒罵嘅勁作。四人狂躁爆汗嘅表演風格，更為巨鳴贏得2015年金音獎嘅年度最佳現場演出，然而翌年樂團喺完成唯一大碟《老子有的時間》巡演，做訪過紐約、波士頓、首爾、東京、大阪、吉隆坡、香港等城市後就進入無限期休團。

直至2022年底，巨大的轟嗚喺已成為金曲獎級別饒舌歌手 Leo王 嘅《音樂戰艦》音樂會上突發合體，以〈登鸛雀樓〉作Encore演出，再喺今年五月舉辦「突然決定去《登鸛雀樓》十週年演唱會」正式限定重組，更會首次嚟到香港登上 Clockenflap 舞台演出！
