黎巴嫩出生，幼年經歷戰亂而舉家流亡巴黎，Ibrahim Maalouf 七歲學玩小號，九歲就隨父歐洲巡演，後來更贏下包括匈牙利國際小號大賽、華盛頓國家小號大賽、安德烈小號大賽等重要獎項 —— 至此可謂一名正統古典樂天才。
直至大學時期，Maalouf 喺巴黎不同酒吧見人就jam，好快就jam出一身爵士樂功力，Maalouf 嘅殺手鐧係佢老豆 Nassim Maalouf 發明、帶有四個活塞嘅小號，可以吹奏出阿拉伯音樂獨有嘅1/4音。2007年推出首張個人專輯《Diasporas》驚艷各大媒體，法國權威刊物《Jazz Magazine》更給予「絕世寶藏」極高評價。其糅合阿拉伯音樂、funk、嘻哈、搖滾、world music等樂種嘅多元自由派風格，曾獲爵士大賞殊榮肯定，2014年受邀為 Yves Saint Laurent 傳記電影負責配樂，再次展示佢嘅絕倫品味。
