A guitar hero for the modern age, South Korea’s Hyemi Kim, aka MEMI, combines hard-rocking riffs and catchy hooks with genre-hopping beats and melodic vocals. Raised on the pop-punk, alt-rock and nu-metal sounds of the early 2000s, MEMI made her name as a guitarist with Korean indie band 24Hours, before joining Seoulmoon as a guitarist/vocalist. Over the past two years, however, she has carved an impressive path as a solo artist, from her first track ‘Hate U’ to a succession of guitar-heavy singles and the EP ‘M3MI’. Trust us: her Clockenflap debut is going to rock.
