Influenced by everyone from Pixies and Violent Femmes to Talking Heads and Arcade Fire, Canadian five-piece Mother Mother are as hard to pigeonhole as they are impossible to ignore. Formed in 2005, they found ‘overnight success’ in 2020 when songs from their 2008 album ‘O My Heart’ went viral on TikTok. Since then, they’ve attracted new fans aplenty, and released their ninth album, ‘Grief Chapter’, earlier this year. Famed for their euphoric live shows, they’re poised to make a big splash when they take the Clockenflap stage for their Hong Kong debut.
加拿大五人樂隊 Mother Mother 由雙主唱 Ryan Guldemond 及 Molly Guldemond 姊弟檔領軍，自2005年組成活躍至今，從佢哋歷年作品中能夠聽出 Pixies、Arcade Fire、Fleetwood Mac、The B-52's 等名團大隊嘅影子，透過 Ryan 一把招牌中性高音貫穿成 MM 獨有風格，由於佢哋不時圍繞死亡、恐慌、存在主義等灰暗題材，亦有樂迷稱之為 apocalypse-core。
成團差不多廿年，進入中堅光譜嘅 MM 意外因 TikTok 崛起而再度爆紅，唔少用戶都對佢哋嘅早期作品情有獨鍾，而第二張大碟《O My Heart》中嘅〈Hayloft〉、〈Burning Pile〉等曲目，尤其得到關注性別議題嘅群體共鳴。Mother Mother 今年年頭推出第九張錄音大碟《Grief Chapter》，最近還剛發表《Mother EP》把先前未放上串流平台包括〈Mamma Told Me〉等經典舊作納入其中，希望都會喺 Clockenflap 嘅香港首演上玩返兩首！
