Standing for ‘Running Out Of Time’, R.O.O.T is a Hong Kong supergroup comprised of Chochukmo vocalist Jan Curious, jazz guitarist Teriver Cheung, Cantopop producer, composer, and keyboardist Sotoc, and drummer Fish Huang, formerly of Taiwanese rock band 831. Drawing on the diverse musical backgrounds of the four members, R.O.O.T’s genre-blending music melds jazz with rock and pop to create something totally unique. Writing mostly in Cantonese, their songs have been lauded by critics and audiences alike, none more so than ‘Wanna Be Like You’, their 2022 collaboration with Taiwanese songstress 9m88.
